From
Headhunters to Christ! Nagaland, India -
January 2009
The beautiful
mountains of Nagaland are located in the
far north-eastern region of India. Bill had
the privilege of being the first Australian
evangelist to proclaim the Gospel to the
people in this area.
The Naga’s were warlike, head-hunting
tribes. It is an amazing story how around
the turn of the 19th century, faithful
missionaries took the Gospel to these
people.
The word for forgiveness was not in their
vocabulary. Once they learned that their
sin could be forgiven, they embraced
Christianity by the thousands.
The meetings were held in the city of
Mokokchung. The Gospel was proclaimed
morning and night with wonderful responses
to the invitation at each of the services.
In the final meeting, Bill preached a
message on the Second Coming, and the
response was overwhelming as people flooded
forward.
Please pray as the work continues in
turning decisions into disciples. Bill has
been asked to return to the capital of
Nagaland to conduct a large crusade in the
local stadium.
Thank you for your prayer and support to
make it all possible.
